Dental Emergencies

Sometimes, accidents happen and emergency dental care is necessary to save a tooth. If you experience a dental emergency in Houston and don’t know how to handle the situation, refer to the following tips.

  • Knocked Out Permanent Tooth: Keep the tooth moist and try to place it back in the socket, avoiding the root. If that is not possible, store the tooth between your gums and cheek, in milk, or in some sort of ADA-approved product for tooth preservation. Seek emergency dental services from one of our Houston offices right away.
  • Cracked Tooth: With warm water, completely rinse your mouth to clean the area. Use a cold compress or ice pack to help reduce any swelling present.
  • Bitten Tongue or Lip: Gently clean the wound with water and apply a cold compress.
  • Toothache: Clean your mouth with a warm water rinse. Floss your teeth gently to remove any hard to reach debris. Never apply aspirin directly to the painful tooth or gum.

Don’t wait to visit your Dr. Teeth emergency dentist in Houston if you experience a mouth injury or persistent pain. Our dentists will take the time to provide you with emergency dental care in Houston when you need it the most. For any dental emergency, you’re always welcome to give us a call!
